Wellness
You point to the spot that never lets go, and percussion works it at up to 3,200 taps a minute.
What It Is
You’re the one who fixes things. The car, the gutters, the kid’s bike. So you fix your shoulder with a thumb jammed into it at a red light. It gives for a minute, then it’s right back. That thumb is why you’re here.
The Hypervolt is a handheld percussion device. Cordless, about two and a half pounds, roughly the shape of a power drill. A soft head on the end taps the muscle fast and repeatedly, at one of three speeds, up to 3,200 percussions per minute.
Four heads swap on and off, so the contact changes with the target: broad and soft across a quad, smaller and firmer near a joint. Dr. Moy holds it, moves it, and reads how the tissue answers. That’s the difference between percussion aimed at something and percussion waved around.
Three speeds. We always start on the lowest.
What It Helps
Percussion takes tone out of a guarded muscle and dulls the soreness sitting on it. It doesn’t answer why that muscle keeps clamping down, so we use it alongside the plan, never instead of it.
What A Session Looks Like

2
It switches on with a knock, not a roar. On muscle it feels like fast, deep tapping. Pressure, not pain.
3
A minute or two a spot, off bone and joints, and it stops the second you say so. Then we load the muscle while it’s calm.
Why It Works
A muscle that finally gives up some of its grip.
More room to move before the pull starts.
Less soreness clinging to you after a hard day.
Something simple enough to keep doing at home.

Your first visit starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a treatment off a menu. Hypervolt Percussion is used when the evaluation says it is the right tool for what is driving your symptoms, and it is delivered one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the full hour.
Amplify Physical Therapy and Wellness is in network with BCBS PPO and Medicare, and out of network with Aetna and United Healthcare. There is also a cash-based option with the price agreed up front. We check your benefits before your first visit so you know the cost before you commit.
Most patients feel meaningful change within 4 to 6 visits. Your plan moves through the four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, so there is a defined endpoint rather than an open-ended run of appointments.
