Dry Needling in Bolingbrook.

When a muscle stays locked for months, a thin needle reaches the knot your stretching and foam rolling never could.

One-on-one Cause-first No referral needed Talk to a Specialist

What It Is

A thin needle. A precise release.

A trigger point is a tight knot buried inside a muscle. It’s the kind that stretching, foam rolling, even massage sometimes can’t reach. It stays tense because those muscle fibers are stuck in a low-grade contraction they can’t release on their own.

Dry needling uses a thin, sterile needle to go straight into that knot. The needle is solid and far thinner than the one used to draw blood. When it finds the spot, the muscle often fires one quick twitch: the local twitch response. That twitch is the muscle finally letting go.

It’s not acupuncture. Acupuncture works from a traditional Chinese medicine framework built around energy meridians. Dry needling is Western and neuromuscular: we’re going after one identifiable knot in one specific muscle, found in your movement evaluation, not a body-wide energy map. Dr. Moy is certified through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy.

What It Helps

Where dry needling shines.

You’re the one who works through things. Which is exactly why that knot has been there for months, and exactly why you’re reading this.

What A Session Looks Like

Three steps, one visit.

1

Dr. Moy presses until you say that’s the spot. Then you decide whether the needle happens.

2

One thin needle in. A quick twitch, an odd deep ache, then the muscle lets go.

3

We load that muscle the same hour, so the release has a reason to stay.

Why It Works

Why we reach for the needle.

Relief in the spot stretching kept missing.

Muscles that fire again instead of guarding.

Fewer flare-ups from the same old knot.

Progress when your plan has stalled.

Questions, Answered

What people ask about dry needling.

Your first visit starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a treatment off a menu. Dry Needling is used when the evaluation says it is the right tool for what is driving your symptoms, and it is delivered one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the full hour.

Amplify Physical Therapy and Wellness is in network with BCBS PPO and Medicare, and out of network with Aetna and United Healthcare. There is also a cash-based option with the price agreed up front. We check your benefits before your first visit so you know the cost before you commit.

Most patients feel meaningful change within 4 to 6 visits. Your plan moves through the four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, so there is a defined endpoint rather than an open-ended run of appointments.
