Weeks 1–2
Pain
Calm it without shutting you down.
Hands-on work and dry needling settle the injured tissue while you keep training everything that is still healthy.
What We Treat
Back to your sport on a tested clearance, not a guess. Cause-first evaluation, one full hour, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Why It Happens
Most sports injuries are not bad luck. Something was already off. A hip that could not produce force, so the knee absorbed it instead. An ankle that lost motion after an old sprain, so the calf worked double. Training load that climbed faster than tissue could adapt to it. The part that finally failed is usually downstream of the real problem.
Which is why coming back on time alone gets athletes hurt again. A cause-first evaluation measures strength, motion, and mechanics on both sides, then compares them. You are the one who plays through things. That is exactly why you are the one who needs a real clearance test, not a hunch.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here is what the four phases look like for a sports injury.
Weeks 1–2
Pain
Hands-on work and dry needling settle the injured tissue while you keep training everything that is still healthy.
Weeks 2–6
Prime
Mobility and control work restores the range you lost, then evens out the side that has been covering for it.
Weeks 6–10
Perform
Progressive loading takes you from strong in the clinic to strong at speed, under fatigue, at game pace.
Weeks 10+
Prevent
Cutting, landing, and sprint testing happen before you go full go. That is the endpoint, not a date on a calendar.
I was referred to Amplify therapy by my orthopaedic surgeon after a rotator cuff repair. All three tendons in cuff were torn after a fall injury on my dominant side. The personal one-on-one care and feedback given made progress more beneficial than possibly going to a franchise outfit. I would highly recommend Dr. Andrew Moy and his expertise to anyone needing to increase their strength and mobility!

Most patients feel meaningful change within 4 to 6 visits. A full plan runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, usually over 8 to 10 weeks depending on how long you have been dealing with it. Either way you get a plan with an endpoint, so you always know which phase you are in and what is left.
No. Illinois has direct access, so you can book an evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy without a physician referral. Some insurance plans still ask for one before they will pay, so we check your benefits before your first visit and tell you exactly where you stand.
Yes. Every session at Amplify Physical Therapy and Wellness is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, for the full hour. You are never handed to an aide and never share your appointment with another patient, which is why your plan can be adjusted in real time as your body responds.
